First quarter of the year, the iPhone 11 became the most popular smartphone in the world

According to the results of the first quarter of 2020, the most popular smartphone in the world was the Apple iPhone 11. This was announced in a report by Omdia.

The coronavirus pandemic and the global crisis did not prevent the iPhone 11 from not only repeating the result of the predecessor iPhone XR but also being ahead of it by 6 million devices sold.

iPhone 11 became the most popular smartphone in the world

In total, Apple sold 19.5 million iPhone 11. It is noted that such high growth in sales is due to the fact that the smartphone compared to its predecessor received a dual camera, while the price fell by $ 50.

iPhone 11 became the most popular smartphone

This year, Apple smartphones immediately occupy four positions in the Top 10 most popular smartphones.

Also included are iPhone XR, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. By the way, the obsolete iPhone 8 and iPhone 6s, which were still in the ranking last year, disappeared from it.

In second place is the Samsung Galaxy A51, which was sold in the amount of 6.8 million units. Its predecessor, the Galaxy A50, was one of last year’s top sellers. First-quarter sales results show that the Samsung Galaxy A51 has every chance of repeating the fate of its predecessor.

Redmi Note 8 from Xiaomi closes the top three, with sales of 6.6 million units.

It is logical that the iPhone 11 has become a market leader in popularity and sales. In iPhone 11, Apple fixed all the flaws that were in the iPhone XR, which was one of the most popular smartphones last year. It really is a full-fledged flagship, which is almost inferior to its older brothers in the face of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, but at the same time it has a more pleasant price.– Fedor Kazakov, media manager and IT columnist for Rossiyskaya Gazeta, explained to Reedus.

It is worth noting that only devices from Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi got into the Top 10 most popular smartphones.
