Flexible Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 will be released later than Galaxy S21, so as not to create competition

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Samsung had decided to postpone the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 2 until next summer. The smartphone was originally supposed to launch alongside the flagship Galaxy S21 series. Today, The Elec said the delay was due to Samsung’s fear that a foldable device would reduce demand for the S-series.

It is reported that only after the launch of the Galaxy S21 will the company pay attention to popularizing foldable phones. It should be noted that analysts of the online edition DSCC expect that the Galaxy Z Flip will become the most popular clamshell smartphone at the end of this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 2 is not expected to be the only foldable smartphone Samsung will unveil next year. It is reported that the phone will be one of five similar devices that the company is preparing.

According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 will receive a 1.1-inch enlarged screen. The current Z Flip has a 6.7-inch diagonal, that is, the new product will already have 7.8-inches. The smartphone will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chipset and will boast 5G support and fast charging.
