To date, Huawei has introduced two flexible smartphones in the book form factor. These are models Mate X and Mate Xs (pictured), in which the screen is folded outside, encircling the body.

The Mate X2 smartphone will reportedly differ in the two named models: it will supposedly get a flexible display that folds into the body. At least that’s what Ross Young, founder, and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), has spread.

In other words, in terms of design, the Mate X2 will be similar to the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone.

It is alleged that the displays for the new Huawei will be supplied by Samsung and BOE. The refresh rate of the main screen will supposedly be 120 Hz. Earlier, the new flexible smartphone Huawei was shown on the website of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Judging by the patent illustrations, the device will receive a dual front camera and a quad rear camera. An auxiliary screen in the form of a vertical bar will be located in front. Users will be able to interact with the gadget using a special pen.
