Follow the new attempt to launch a giant Starship rocket into space [Updated]
If the launch is successful, it will be the first orbital flight of the huge Starship rocket, which is being created to deliver people and cargo to the Moon, Mars and beyond. The launch will take place from the SpaceX space base in South Texas.
SpaceX attempted to launch the rocket on April 17 , but canceled the attempt less than nine minutes before the scheduled launch due to a problem with the pressurization system on the first stage of Starship, a huge launch vehicle called Super Heavy.
The Super Heavy is scheduled to make a hard splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico about eight minutes after liftoff. Meanwhile, the Starship upper-stage spacecraft will make an incomplete circle around the Earth and crash into the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii about 90 minutes after launch.
