For incorrigible fans: a blogger showed what Resident Evil 7 looks like with a classic camera

Resident Evil 7 marks the first part of the main series to feature a first-person perspective – previously, this perspective was only used in offshoots. Not all fans were happy with this change. For them, YouTube user Enveloping Sounds showed how the game looks with a classic camera.

Enveloping Sounds has posted two videos of Ethan Winters exploring the Baker Mansion. The hero interacts with objects, opens doors, and also pulls out, reloads, and uses weapons. The battles themselves are not shown – according to the user, they would need to add auto-aiming, as in the early Resident Evil, and significantly change the game code. Including, for this reason, there is no question of creating a modification – this is just a “proof of concept”.

The blogger used a free camera from cheez-it and golden toad, which can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, as well as the Ethan with Head mod by alpha omega and ZombieAli, which adds a header to the protagonist. In the original game, Ethan’s head is missing – it would obscure the user’s view.

In the comments to the videos, users noted that the classic camera makes Resident Evil 7 extremely similar to the old parts, and modern graphics do not diminish this similarity. Others drew attention to the fact that the change in perspective only emphasizes the relationship of the seventh game with the early ones, although many consider them to be very different. Fans hoped these videos could influence Capcom’s decisions in the future.
