Russian crew members of the International Space Station (ISS) Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin are planning another spacewalk, it will take place this evening, August 9, in the evening. As part of the extravehicular activity (EVA), it will be necessary to transfer the workplace designed to fix the astronaut and move him from the Rassvet module to the Nauka multipurpose laboratory module.

In addition, during this spacewalk, the astronaut’s transfer with the ERA manipulator arm will be tested for the first time. With the help of the manipulator, a test transfer of Prokopyev will be carried out at the workplace, Andrey Fedyaev will control the “hand” from the ISS. The opening of the exit hatch of the Poisk small research module is scheduled for 17:45 Moscow time on August 9th. The extravehicular activity is expected to last 6 hours and 45 minutes. It will be the eighth for Sergei Prokopiev and the sixth for Dmitry Petelin.
