It’s about the Always Connected PC format

Apple and Qualcomm are now closely cooperating, and more recently they fought a war almost to destruction. But all such wars are very conditional, therefore the last one ended as soon as it became unprofitable for one of the parties.

And now the president of Qualcomm, Cristiano R. Amon, in an interview with a source, praised Apple for switching to its own processors in general, and the M1 single-chip system in particular.

On the one hand, one could say that Amon simply had to answer that way due to the current relationship between the two giants, but not everything is so simple. The fact is that Apple, by its action, although it is not yet visible, has clearly seriously shifted the PC industry towards the Arm architecture. And Qualcomm has been trying to promote the same with the Always Connected PC format for several years now. True, such laptops have not yet gained any particular popularity, but now Apple has actually approved this direction, and we can safely assume that in the near future it will become much more attractive to users.

So this is a very good sign overall. The ecosystem will move, and it has shown that Microsoft and Qualcomm are on the right track. It’s about battery life, connectivity, a completely different multimedia experience

In 2021, Qualcomm is likely to release a new platform for Always Connected PC. True, its popularity will not least depend on both its performance and Microsoft with its Windows 10 Arm optimization.
