Instead of “Valdai Next”
The GAZ company began production of the Valdai 8 truck, which replaced the Valdai Next model.
The new Valdai is equipped with the G21B engine, which was developed by the Chinese company Foton. Now this unit is undergoing the process of localization, which will make it more profitable for GAZ.
GAZ began production of the truck “Valdai 8”
Unlike the previously used Cummins turbodiesel with 350 Nm of torque, the new 2.5-liter engine has an indicator of 415 Nm. This made it possible to raise the carrying capacity of Valdai 8 by 840 kg at once, up to 4628 kg. Whether fuel consumption has increased is not yet clear.
At the same time, GAZ specialists did not have to modify either the brake system or the chassis, since their margin of safety and characteristics is very high.
It is also reported that Valdai 8 will have a sleeping bag available as an option, and the parking brake valve has been moved back, which makes it more convenient to sit in the driver’s seat during rest.
