As always, choosing a gaming laptop should be approached carefully.
Yesterday we saw a comparison of the desktop GeForce RTX 4090 with mobile , and today we will see how different the mobile RTX 4090 Laptop and RTX 4080 Laptop are.

The mobile RTX 4080 Laptop at its maximum is an analogue of the desktop RTX 3080. The desktop RTX 4070 Ti, which is very similar in characteristics, is 17% faster. By analogy, we can assume that the desktop RTX 4070 will roughly correspond to the mobile RTX 4080 Laptop, that is, the desktop RTX 3080.
If you evaluate the RTX 4080 Laptop with a minimum power limit, then this is just the level of the desktop RTX 3060 Ti.
Recall that the RTX 4090 Laptop is based on the AD103 GPU with 9728 CUDA cores and is equipped with 16 GB of memory with a 256-bit bus. The main parameters here are identical to the desktop RTX 4080. As for the mobile RTX 4080 Laptop, it is based on the AD104 GPU with 7424 CUDA cores, and the card also has 12 GB of memory with a 192-bit bus. In this case, the parameters are almost identical to the desktop RTX 4070 Ti.
