Gigabyte unveils its GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards: big and powerful

Gigabyte has unveiled its GeForce RTX 30xx series graphics cards in the performance of Eagle OC, Gaming OC, as well as AORUS Xtreme and AORUS Master. Unfortunately, at the moment one can only find out only about the appearance of new products, since NVIDIA still does not disclose all information about the technical characteristics of its video cards based on the Ampere architecture and, apparently, does not allow its partners to do so.

In total, Gigabyte presented 8 video cards. Their list is as follows:

  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming OC;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Eagle OC;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Eagle OC;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Xtreme;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Xtreme;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Master;
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Master.The Gaming OC and Eagle OC models boast updated WindForce 3X cooling systems. They use massive aluminum heatsinks with seven copper-composite heat pipes, a large copper base for direct contact with the GPU and video memory chips, and three fans. The side dimensions are 90 mm, the central size is 80 mm. It rotates in the opposite direction to the other two fans, thus reducing the turbulence of air flows between them and thereby increasing the efficiency of removing hot air from the video card. This feature appears to be the standard for all manufacturers of next-generation NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards. In addition, the manufacturer indicates that fans can completely stop when there is no load on the graphics system.

    For additional reliability and cooling of the components of video cards Gigabyte uses a metal backplate (backplate). New RGB Fusion 2.0 lighting completes the picture.

    To provide additional power, the Gigabyte Gaming OC and Eagle OC models of GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 graphics cards are equipped with two 8-pin PCI ‑ e connectors. For image output, the video cards are equipped with three DisplayPort 1.4a and two HDMI 2.1.

    The manufacturer has equipped the Xtreme and Master models with even more efficient Max-Covered Cooling systems with a unique design of fans on double rolling bearings. There are also three fans here. Two lateral dimensions 115 mm each, central – 100 mm. It also uses reverse rotation to move air more efficiently towards the radiator.

    An interesting feature of this cooling system is also the presence of a built-in liquid crystal display that displays the temperature of the graphics processor of the video card.

    The large copper base of the cooling system heatsink, which has direct contact with the GPU and memory, uses a vapor chamber.

    The manufacturer has not yet announced the number of available video outputs for these models, as well as the configuration of the additional power supply system.
