Gigabyte Technology has unveiled its first external solid-state drive. The device, called the Vision Drive, is equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 interface routed to the USB-C connector.

The ingeniously shaped case houses a PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD that uses a 3 D TLC NAND flash memory and a Phison E12 controller. The storage capacity is 1 TB. There is 1 GB of DDR memory for caching. According to the manufacturer, read and write speeds reach 2000 MB / s. The resource is declared equal to 1600 TBW, and the warranty period is 5 years.
The matte white surface of the case is said to have no fingerprints and the black base is less susceptible to dirt. The manufacturer notes the strength of the case and the presence of two independent radiators directly on the SSD. Cooling is assisted by the presence of vents on the bottom and sides of the case.
The package includes cables with USB Type-C and Type-A connectors, as well as a travel case. The manufacturer does not name the price of the novelty.
