Xiaomi and Apple ranked fourth and fifth
According to the latest figures released by Trustdata, the Chinese smartphone maker Oppo became the leading smartphone brand in China in the first quarter of 2020 in terms of smartphone shipments.
Goodbye Huawei. Oppo and Vivo pushed Huawei to third place in China
The report claims that Oppo smartphone shipments accounted for about 21.4% of the total market. The second position was taken by Vivo with a market share of 20.5%. Huawei in the first quarter took only third place with a share of 20.2%. Xiaomi and Apple took fourth and fifth places, gaining 10.3% and 10.1% of the market, respectively.
The report calculates shipments of Huawei and Honor separately. If the supply of Huawei and Honor is folded, then the company will lead the rating with a result of 29.9%.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a big impact on the smartphone industry. In the first month of this year, domestic shipments of mobile phones in China fell 38.9% year on year, with shipments of just 20.8 million units.
Deliveries of domestic brands in China fell 42.9% in January 2020. According to figures released by the Chinese government, in February, companies sold about 6.34 million handsets in China, 54.7% less than last year.
