Google credited with intent to release flagship Pixel 6 earlier than usual

This year, Google has not presented the public with a true flagship smartphone. Pixel 5 is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G platform, which is used in mid-budget devices. It is assumed that the company took such a step in an attempt to save money since it was not sure about the sufficient popularity of new smartphones. According to new rumors, Google will return to the premium device market as early as next March.

The source of this information was the authoritative insider Max Winebach, whose reputation is not in doubt, but he advises to take it with a grain of salt. Weinbach doubts the veracity of the rumor, but the fact that he heard it from two different sources raises questions about the veracity of the information. This is also at odds with Google’s usual strategy, which usually releases flagship models towards the end of the year, while affordable smartphones usually come out in the first half of the year.

Whenever Pixel 6 comes out, there is reason to believe that this device will be powered by Google’s first proprietary processor. Earlier, information appeared on the Web that the company has developed a chipset that will be produced according to Samsung’s 5nm process technology. In addition, it was reported that back in August, the company received the first trial batch of these chips.

By the way, there were earlier rumors that other manufacturers will release their flagships earlier than usual next year. So, Samsung will allegedly introduce the Galaxy S21 series in January, instead of the traditional February, and OnePlus will postpone the announcement of the flagship OnePlus 9 to March or April, together with May.
