Google Maps iOS app updated for the first time in four months

After completing the rollout of privacy shortcuts to its apps in the Apple App Store, Google today updated the Google Maps app. It is worth noting that the previous update to the application for accessing the map service was released four months ago.

In December, Apple began requiring all new apps and updates to existing programs to include privacy labels. They are icons that clearly show what data the application collects to understand what they are sharing with the developers. Google didn’t start implementing privacy shortcuts until February and accordingly didn’t update its iOS apps. It’s funny that the Gmail email client did not update for so long that it began to warn users that it was out of date. But there was still nothing to update it.

Google Maps and Google Photos were the search giant’s latest apps to receive privacy shortcuts. This happened already in April. Now the company can start updating them again. Today’s release of Google Maps is version 5.65. This is a minor update that fixes bugs found in previous versions.
