Google to release Pixel smartphone with flexible display by the end of 2021
Employees of the 9to5Google resource managed to study the internal Google documentation related to the Android operating system: the files contain information about future Pixel smartphones.
The documentation, in particular, lists Android assemblies for all released devices, starting with Pixel 2. At the same time, the upcoming models are also mentioned: this is a Pixel 5a device with a codename “barbette”, as well as smartphones with internal names “raven”, “oriole” and “passport”.
Presumably, the “raven” and “oriole” models will be included in the Pixel 6 family. As for the “passport” device, a smartphone equipped with a flexible display is being created under this project. The documentation states that all three new items will hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2021. Unfortunately, technical details were not disclosed.
It is also reported that the Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 smartphones will be released in October this year. The Pixel 5a model will go on sale in the second quarter of next year.
We add that the Pixel 4a recently debuted at a cost of $ 349. It features a 5.8-inch AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB storage, and a single rear camera with a resolution of 12 million pixels.
