But on Arm reference cores
Google may get its first 100% in-house Tensor SoC in 2025.
Now all SoC Tensors are semi-custom solutions based on Samsung’s developments, and these very developments in recent years have not been the most successful for the Korean giant. Of course, it is still unclear whether Tensor, which is completely created by Google, will be better, but for Google itself, its own solution is certainly more profitable for many reasons.
Google will abandon the legacy of Samsung in 2025.
Initially, Google wanted to stop helping Samsung by 2024, but plans have changed. Thus, the SoC Tensor G5 in the Pixel 10 line will already be unique if the company does not change the naming principles.
It is worth noting that, although Google will abandon the developments of Samsung, its new SoCs will still rely on reference Arm CPUs and GPUs.
