GPD Win 4 Slider Handheld Game Console
The Chinese company GPD at the beginning of the year introduced a portable game console for Windows – the GPD Win 4 model. The novelty is made in a rare slider form factor and is equipped with a full keyboard, as well as a productive hardware platform. And it will reportedly go on sale in mid-December.
GPD Win 4 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, Radeon 680M graphics, a 6-inch Full HD display and a large amount of memory, both RAM and permanent. Prices start at $800.
The options look like this:
- 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD for $799;
- 16 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD for $899;
- 32 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD for $999;
- 32 GB RAM / 2 TB SSD for $1199.
All options use LPDDR5-6400 RAM soldered on the motherboard, and the drives support the PCIe 4.0 NVMe standard. They can be replaced. Among the ports, we note USB4 with support for data transfer rates of 40 Gb / s and the connection of an external video card. There are also USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A.
Among other features, we note a 6-axis, improved vibration motor, analog sticks and additional buttons on the back. LED backlighting and a full keyboard are also announced. It is also illuminated, the brightness can be adjusted.
The 6-inch display is characterized by a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with support for a refresh rate of 60 Hz. There are also Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 adapters, a fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card reader.
You can optionally add a 4G LTE cellular modem and a Win 4 docking station with HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and USB 3.2 ports. These options are not priced.
