Last year sales fell below expectations due to pandemic

72 million households will have 8K TVs in 2025
In 2020, the adoption of 8K TVs has been slower than expected. A little less than 350 thousand of these devices were sold all over the world in a year. However, analysts believe that more than 1 million 8K TVs will be sold in 2021, about 4 million in 2022, and sales will exceed 15 million in 2023. Market growth by region is clearly shown in the diagram.
Screen size preferences will be the determining factor in the adoption of 8K TVs, analysts say. Markets where consumers prefer larger screen sizes, including the US and China, are expected to see the fastest adoption rates.
Sales fell short of expectations last year due to the pandemic, which forced many spectacular events, including the Olympic Games, to be postponed, according to a Strategy Analytics analyst.
