Explanation from Tesla
Lars Moravi, Tesla’s vice president of automotive manufacturing, confirmed to TopGear that the Cybertruck will never make it to Europe.
“First of all, the pickup truck market in America is huge, but here it’s different. Secondly, European regulations require rounding of protruding parts by 3.2 millimeters. Unfortunately, it is impossible to make a 3.2 millimeter rounding on a stainless steel plate with a thickness of 1.4 millimeters,” he told Top Gear.
Here’s why the Tesla Cybertruck won’t come to Europe
Insideevs also gives other reasons. If the Cybertruck were released, the driver would have to have a category C license, which is intended for vehicles with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tons.
Another factor that makes the Cybertruck an American exclusive is the limited appeal of large pickups in Europe over the years.
