Millions in the U.S. and around the world face record-breaking temperatures

A scorching heat wave is currently gripping the South, subjecting millions of people to relentless high temperatures. The National Weather Service has issued warnings of “record-breaking heat” anticipated in various parts of the United States, including the Four Corners states, Texas, the lower Mississippi Valley, and South Florida.

The United States is not the only country facing this extreme heat challenge. Heat waves have also struck nations across Europe and Asia, posing a significant risk of breaking temperature records. Notably, China’s western region of Xinjiang recently experienced its highest-ever recorded temperature. The global phenomenon of soaring temperatures has become a shared concern worldwide.
