Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. There has been an outcry in many districts including Mandi and Chamba. The couple and their son have died in Chamba district, while nine have died in cloudburst incidents in Mandi’s Saraj, Gohar and Drang. While 13 people have died across the state. At the same time, many people are said to be missing. All three NH Mandi Pathankot, Mandi Kullu and Mandi Jalandhar via Dharampur have been closed. On the other hand, due to heavy rains in Kangra district, the railway mill was washed away at night. The train service was stopped a week and a half ago due to cracks. Schools in Kangra and Kullu have been closed in view of the heavy rains. A house collapsed in Gorda (Shahpur) of Bhanala district of Kangra district, Due to which a 12-year-old child lost his life. According to the information, the bus driver Naseeb Singh’s son Ayush (12) in a private school has been buried under the rubble. After this the villagers took out 12-year-old Ayush with hard work and took him to Shahpur Hospital. But the doctors declared the child dead.

Along with this, almost all the shops including many vehicles in the rebel and houses, gaushalas, ghats, vehicles and crops have been damaged in the old Kataula Gujjar settlement. Under the biggest accident, the entire family of late Lal Hussain, the star of Sandoa, Purana Kataula, 5 people are missing due to the floods, while the body of a girl child has been found about half a kilometer below the house.

Pankaj Kumar, Himanshu and other locals of Purana Kataula continued to search for the missing family members, but the search operation was stopped due to heavy influx in the rebel ravine. On the other hand, SDM Mandi Ritika Jindal has confirmed the matter. He said that efforts are on to send NDRF along with relief and rescue teams on the spot, but the road is closed at many places from Mandi to Kataula Baghi.

On the other hand, along with the rebel Kataula, Mandi district has caused extensive damage due to heavy rains overnight. The Balh valley has been submerged and there is a possibility of heavy damage as the Suketi Khad is in full spate. All three NHs and dozens of roads in the district are closed due to landslides.

There is no loss of life and property. There has been chaos in Sasti village due to all the debris of the hill coming down. All the highways in the subdivision are closed. Normal life has been left busy. There is power outage since late night. Whereas the mobile network has also come to a standstill from 6 am on Saturday. Due to the shutdown of mobile service, villagers are unable to contact their relatives. Which has increased the concern.
Krishna Bhoj, vice-president of Panchayat Samiti Drang, has informed the sub-divisional administration about the incident early in the morning. But due to the closure of NH due to landslides from place to place, the administrative staff has not been able to reach the spot. 

Due to landslide near Narla in NH, all the debris has come on the road. SDM Padhar Sanjit Singh said that the normal life is disturbed due to incessant rains. The villagers of Sarajbagala and Jagehad villages above the fear of Kotropi incident, spent the whole night in the village by going to a safe place. There has been a crack in the hill till the village. Due to which the villagers are scared. On the other hand, the villagers of Upper Kotropi village are also now frightened by the landslide from the hill in the opposite direction.

Panchayat Pradhan Khem Singh’s house has been demolished due to a severe landslide in Kashan under Gohar development block of Mandi district. It is said that eight family members including Khem Singh are buried inside the house. At present, the local people themselves are trying to rescue the trapped people by breaking the linter of the grounded house, but they are not able to walk in front of the terrible debris.

Although the Tehsildar has left for the spot along with the team force on behalf of the administration, but due to the road blockage, he is unable to reach the spot. The Deputy Pradhan of the local panchayat told that he is trying to break the linter with the help of the villagers. He told that linters were put in the first floor of the house and sheets were put in the second floor.

People left the village
out of fear of the Kotropi incident, the villagers of Sarajbagala and Jagehad above village spent the whole night going to a safe place in the village. There has been a crack in the hill till the village. Due to which the villagers are scared. On the other hand, the villagers of Upper Kotropi village are also now frightened by the landslide from the hill in the opposite direction.

According to DC Mandi Arindam Choudhary, so far one body has been recovered and more than fifteen people are reported missing. Crores of rupees have been lost. Some vehicles have been washed away. Many houses have been destroyed.

while in Chamba district, tons of debris entered the house by breaking the wall due to heavy rains. Due to which three people went missing. Rural and administrative teams have recovered the bodies of the missing husband, wife and son. Rain has caused havoc in Julada ward number one of Banet Panchayat of Bhatiyat area. The incident is being told at two o’clock late in the night. 

The bodies of husband, wife and son buried under the rubble have been sent to Civil Hospital Chuvadi for post-mortem. DSP Vishal Verma said that the bodies would be handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem.
