Honor V40 5G smartphone announcement with dual front camera postponed to January 22

Honor announced on January 8 that it will announce the flagship smartphone Honor V40 5G on January 18 – its first mobile device to be released after the separation from Huawei. But, as it has now become known, the presentation of the novelty has been postponed to January 22, as reported in the Honor account on the Weibo social network.

In explaining the postponement, Honor cited problems with the venue and equipment but promised to start selling the V40 5G on January 22 at noon local time. The presentation of the new product will begin at 10:00 local time.

The Chinese manufacturer did not disclose until the announcement of the V40 5G specs but has released a series of teasers showing the curved smartphone screen with an elongated hole for the dual front camera and a rectangular main camera module on the back. Also, a video has leaked to the Web, allowing you to get an idea of ​​the external appearance of the device.

According to rumours, the rear camera of the smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel main unit, an 8-megapixel module with wide-angle optics, a 5-megapixel module for macro photography and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Honor V40 5G is reportedly based on the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of flash storage. The smartphone supports 66W wired charging and 55W wireless charging, with a 4000 mAh battery.

The specifications of the device include a 6.72-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2676 × 1236 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a polling rate of a touch layer of 300 Hz, as well as an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

In addition to the base Honor V40 smartphone, the new series is expected to include the V40 Pro and V40 Pro Plus, models.
