Twitter has become much less likely to appear in Google search results

According to several data analytics firms, Twitter is experiencing a sharp decline in visibility on Google. Sistrix data shows that Twitter’s visibility on Google search in the US is down 32% in a single day.

Newzdash reported that Twitter has lost 12 to 14% of its visibility in Google search results for all news queries in the US and UK.

The reason was a recent decision taken by Twitter owner Elon Musk, who limited the number of tweets available to different users for daily viewing. Many experts already call this one of the most serious mistakes in search engine optimization in recent times.

Although Musk’s actions were aimed at improving the user experience on Twitter, they affected the work of the Google search engine. Google reads data from many URLs daily to keep its index up to date. Musk’s restrictions prevent Google from accessing Twitter, resulting in reduced search visibility.

As a result, Twitter content has become less likely to appear in Google searches for many keywords. Current analysis shows that Twitter has lost nearly 60,000 keywords from the top 10 positions in Google search results, based on preliminary data from the US market.

After Twitter’s decline in search popularity, its competitors have succeeded. Domains such as theguardian.com, cbssports.com, usnews.com, instagram.com, facebook.com, rottentomatoes.com, linkedin.com, spotify.com, and espn.com all improved search rankings.

As of July 4, it was reported that the decline of Twitter in the search engine continues.
