Strategy Analytics experts have summed up the results of the third quarter of 2020 in the laptop market. They found that in annual terms, sales of these products increased by 34%. In total, 62.2 million laptops were shipped during the reporting period.

HP managed to increase sales of notebooks in annual terms by 43%

HP has increased shipments by 43% – from 10.3 to 14.7 million notebooks. This allowed it to surpass Lenovo for the first time in many years to become the largest laptop supplier in the world. The share of HP is 23.6%.

However, Lenovo is not far behind. The Chinese manufacturer shipped 14.6 million laptops in the quarter, which also roughly corresponds to 23.6% of the market.

The top five also includes Dell, Apple and Acer. Dell’s share for the year decreased from 15.6% to 13.7%. Apple’s share increased from 9.3% to 9.7%. Acer’s share decreased from 8.0% to 7.9%.
