In the period from July to September inclusive, 84.8 million smart cellular devices were sold in the Celestial Empire. For comparison: a year earlier, shipments were equal to 98.9 million units.

The leading player is Huawei, but the telecom giant’s share is declining, including due to tough sanctions from the United States. Shipments of Huawei smartphones on an annualized basis fell by 15.5% – to 35.1 million units. At the same time, the share decreased from 42.0% to 41.4%.

The second, third, and fourth places in the Chinese smartphone market also belong to local developers – Vivo, OPPO, and Xiaomi. At the end of the last quarter, they occupied 17.8%, 16.6%, and 13.0% of the industry, respectively. Apple closes the top five with a score of 8.3%.

It is curious that all other smartphone suppliers, including the world market leader Samsung, together we’re able to get only about 3.0% of the Chinese market.
