HyperX Unveils Impact DDR4 SODIMM Memory for Gaming Laptops and Small PCs

HyperX, the gaming arm of the Kingston Technology Company, has introduced the new HyperX Impact DDR4 SODIMM series of RAM. New items designed for use in laptops or compact desktop systems are available in volumes from 4 to 32 GB and are offered both as separate modules and as part of kits with a total volume of up to 64 GB.

One of the main features of the new HyperX Impact DDR4 SODIMM memory modules is a somewhat non-standard implementation of the Plug N Play function. It allows the system to automatically increase the memory frequency to the maximum supported values, eliminating the need for the user to perform this operation manually through the BIOS.

The manufacturer’s stated voltage level for operation of HyperX Impact DDR4 SODIMM memory modules is 1.2 V. There are options with CL14, CL15, CL16, CL17, and CL20 timings to choose from. The effective memory frequency depends on the selected module or kit and is 2400, 2666, 2933, and 3200 MHz.

The most affordable memory option in this series, offering a frequency of 2400 MHz with CL15 timings and a volume of 16 GB, the manufacturer estimates at $ 77. The most expensive set of two HyperX Impact DDR4 SODIMM memory modules with a total volume of 32 GB and a frequency of 3200 MHz was estimated at $ 190.
