Ikea and Sonos to release table lamp and wall art with built-in smart speakers

Ikea and Sonos are starting to share information on upcoming products they are collaborating to develop. The furniture giant posted a story on Instagram that mentions the Symfonisk series of lamps with built-in speakers and the Sonos logo. Also, the FCC has received two new certification applications from IKEA, indicating that new product launches are imminent.

One of the new products, according to The Verge, will be an updated version of the Symfonisk table lamp. It is expected to cost around $ 179, just like the original device. As a reminder, it combined the design and functionality of a lamp with all the features and sound quality of a Sonos Play speaker: 1.

According to The Verge, the second device will be a picture offering the functionality of a wireless speaker. Of course, similar products already exist in the portfolios of companies like Soundwall. Still, there is no doubt that the Ikea and Sonos products will be much more affordable and more popular. The Verge reports that it has already heard about the product, codenamed “Titan,” but does not know the details of how it functions. In particular, it is unclear whether the whole picture with the built-in speaker will be a complete product or the annoying print can be replaced without problems.

Ikea and Sonos have not yet announced when they plan to unveil new joint products.
