New cars coming out in 2026
R. J. Scaringe, CEO of Rivian, has shared fresh details on the electric brand’s upcoming products. In addition to the R1T and R1S models, the automaker will introduce new electric vehicles that will feature a smaller form factor and unique design.
The company is actively working on a new platform and plans to release a smaller pickup truck and SUV in its corporate identity around 2026.
Following them, we have plans for cars that we creatively call R2, R3, but they are moving into other form factors and, obviously, other sizes … We want to use what we have done here and repeat it in other cases and smaller form factors.

Right now, Rivian is in the middle of a “huge debate” about where to splurge and where to save money in regards to the new platform. One of the issues that is being actively discussed is how off-road the car should be in relation to driving dynamics on the road and equipment.
