In Windows 10, the “Application Manager” may appear to monitor the consumption of system resources

Not so long ago in Windows 10, there was a section “Applications and functions”, using which you can see the list of software installed on your computer and its size. Now, online sources say that Microsoft is working on a new program manager that can be implemented in the Settings app and give users more control over running software and processes.

The source notes that the “Application Manager” is currently under development, but some details are already known about it. The manager’s interface includes the ability to view all installed applications or only those that are currently running.

The user will be able to use this tool to force-close applications and stop processes, as well as remove programs if necessary. Another manager option is called “Performance”. Its use will allow you to access detailed statistics for each running process. The user will have access to data regarding the CPU load, disk, and RAM.

Microsoft is likely working on a new manager to make the touch-optimized Settings app more meaningful and usable. At this stage, the “Application Manager” has a very limited set of functions, but it is obvious that in the future developers will add more features to it. Unlike Task Manager, the Settings app will notify users when an app is using up too much memory.

Since the “Application Manager” is under development, it is not yet known exactly when it may become available to users.
