Intel Core i9-11900K processor overclocked to over 7 GHz

According to the CPU-Z Validation website database, the flagship Intel Core i9-11900K Rocket Lake-S series processor has been overclocked to over 7GHz. We had to increase the voltage supplied to the processor to 1.874 V and use liquid nitrogen for cooling. The author of the result is a user with the pseudonym Rog-Fisher. The experiment was carried out using the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Apex motherboard.

The enthusiast overclocked the processor several times. In the first case, we managed to achieve a frequency of 6898.34 MHz. For the second time, the clock frequency exceeded the 7000 MHz mark and amounted to 7034.16 MHz. The record was the conquered frequency of 7047.88 MHz.

The Indian YouTube channel PC Wale has published a video demonstrating the process of extreme overclocking of the same processor, however, only up to 6.5 GHz. This figure for the speed of the chip was achieved at a lower voltage of 1.7 V.

Overclockers in India indicated that they received a special version of the XOC BIOS for the motherboard from a South Korean enthusiast with the alias SafeDisk. According to them, he works for ASUS. This special BIOS version unlocks the maximum voltage available to the processor. Up to 2 V. Indian enthusiasts used the ROG Maximus XIII Hero motherboard in their experiment to overclock the Core i9-11900K.

Since the samples of Core i9-11900K who participated in the overclocking were provided directly by Intel itself, enthusiasts are not yet entitled to publish any results of the chips’ performance. The market debut of Rocket Lake-S processors will take place on March 30th. Then all the details will become known.
