launches Evo brand to make it easier for you to choose a good laptop

As part of today’s Tiger Lake launch event, Intel made another major announcement: it is launching a comprehensive Intel Evo laptop branding program. Now, notebooks powered by 11th Gen Core processors that have been validated by Intel to meet specific performance and quality requirements will receive a distinctive badge that will allow customers to distinguish them from others on the shelves.

In fact, Intel Evo is a further development of the Athena initiative, in which Intel specialists help laptop partners to develop the highest quality products. Now, the Evo brand will extend to users, allowing them to easily choose mobile computers that best unleash the capabilities of today’s Tiger Lake platform. Tested and approved laptops will be marked with a special sticker on the case.

Among the key characteristics of laptops that will be released under the auspices of Intel Evo, it is worth highlighting the same responsiveness both when running on AC and on battery; exit from sleep in one second; and the ability to operate on a battery for more than 9 hours after a full charge, and at least 4 hours after a 30-minute charge under daily load conditions.

Typical notebook bearing the logo Intel Evo, it should be based on a processor Core i7 or i5 generation Tiger Lake graphics performance with the X an e, have a dual-channel memory subsystem volume of more than 8 GB, as well as completed NVMe SSD capacity of at least 256 GB. In addition, among the prerequisites is the support of modern interfaces, including Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6. In addition, a laptop with the Evo logo must necessarily have a high-quality and calibrated display with a touchscreen and thin bezels, a precision touchpad, and a decent audio subsystem. Mobile systems that meet Intel Evo requirements must not only be thin and light but also be lightweight and have a quiet cooling system.

It should be noted that in fact, the tests that laptops undergo as part of the Intel Evo program are much more extensive than it seems at first glance. The focus is not only on formal specifications but also on the usability of a mobile computer in typical environments, including both traditional and cloud-based applications. Intel specifically emphasizes that laptops are tested in more than 25 real-world scenarios when validating systems for Evo compliance. By the way, in comparison with the original Athena program, formal requirements have been significantly tightened, and the scope of testing has been expanded.

Intel expects more than 20 laptop models to receive the Intel Evo logo during this year. The most likely candidates include the Acer Swift 5, Asus Zenbook Flip S, Lenovo Yoga 9i, and Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 5G.
