Introduced an unusual roguelike Loot River – a mixture of pixel action with Tetris
The developers from the Slovak studio Straka. The Studio presented an unusual project – Loot River for PC and Xbox consoles (which ones are not specified). It is a dynamic roguelike set in procedurally generated mazes. Players are waiting for real-time battles, dark fantasy style, and puzzles with moving level elements.
This all reminds me of a mixture of Dark Souls in pixel style with Tetris. With the help of the Relic’s power, you can move the ground under your feet, solving riddles made of blocks. The endless catacombs are home to a variety of monsters, lost travelers, and even bosses. Many new weapons and equipment can be found in these grottoes – as well as unholy knowledge that will unlock constant improvements.
The description says: “Drawn by the fragments of the unholy Relics, the wandering nomads found themselves in an endless cycle of life and death, losing their minds while traveling through endless parallel realities and destroying each other to absorb the knowledge of other travelers. There are no two similar voyages for countless lost souls … ”.
The game features hand-drawn pixel graphics with fluid animations, real-time shadows, water simulation, the ability to control every part of the floating dungeon, and many different abilities that can be improved and used as you progress through procedurally generated levels.
The exact release date has not been announced, and the Russian localization is not mentioned on the Loot River Steam page.
