“ Following the recall of the iPhone 12 due to excessive specific absorption rate (SAR), Apple has committed to releasing the update in France. The patch will be available to all French users no later than October 24 ,” ANFR said.

The agency also added that after the update, the specific absorption rate (SAR) will not exceed the country’s limit of 4 W/kg. Apple has already tested the beta version of iOS 17.1, which recorded a decrease in SAR; it remains to release the final version of the patch.

It became known recently that the iPhone 12 exceeds the radio frequency radiation standards adopted in France . French Digital Economy Minister Jean-Noël Barrault threatened to stop selling this model in the country if Apple does not correct the situation.
