Flyme 9 prevents apps from collecting user data without permission
Meizu recently launched the Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro flagship smartphones, offering shoppers very attractive discounts if they hand over their smartphones to Apple iPhones. Now it became known that the manufacturer has implemented increased protection against application tracking in Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro.
iPhone owners upgrading to Meizu 18 will appreciate increased app tracking protection
Meizu Technology announced further improvements to the privacy protection of the Flyme 9 shell. This improvement ensures that the Flyme 9 system does not allow apps to collect user data without permission. The Meizu 18 series gets “Limited App Tracking” by default. This feature will be active by default immediately after the next update is released.
According to Meizu, the company is the first Android smartphone OEM to include Limited App Tracking by default. The company says this is not an easy decision, but a necessary one. Meizu hopes to bring privacy back to users. The company believes that every user deserves to know which application is collecting their data.
Apps must obtain user permissions before they can track advertising device IDs.
Earlier, Meizu said that 45% of new owners of Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro are former users of Apple smartphones.
