Series X accounted for only a quarter of sales
The leaked Microsoft documents contained data not only about future Xbox consoles but also about current ones. In particular, about the distribution of sales between Series S and Series X.
It turned out that there was a large advantage in favor of the first. More precisely, we are talking about 74.8% versus 25.1% in favor of the younger model.
Is the cheap Xbox Series S much more popular than the Series X?
It is immediately worth noting that, firstly, the documents refer to April 2022, and secondly, it is unclear for what period the statistics are given. It could concern a quarter, or it could concern all sales for the entire time. Whether the distribution remains even close to this is unknown, but data from Niko Partners and Circana, cited by IGN, suggests that sales are now divided almost equally between the two Xbox Series models, with a slight advantage in the direction of the younger console.
Considering that the Xbox platform, among other things, is very interesting for its affordable Game Pass subscription, buying a much cheaper console seems to make more sense to many.
