Nvidia gets ready for an event with the talking name Get Amped
Nvidia has officially announced an event called Get Amped on May 14 – it will be held online, on the YouTube platform. The description speaks of “the latest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence, deep learning, autonomous vehicles, robotics and professional graphics” , but the name clearly alludes to the official announcement of Ampere architecture – it will form the basis of the company’s new generation of 3D-cards based on 7-nanometer GPU Among them will be the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3070.
Interestingly, according to rumors, the announcement of Ampere was expected in July-August. It turns out that commodity models of video cards of the RTX 3000 family can be released earlier than September-October. However, an important announcement in itself should have happened earlier – on March 23 as part of the GTC 2020 event, but it was postponed due to coronavirus.
