Zoom video conferencing participants can now be seated in a virtual room using Immersive View
Over the past year, video conferencing has become an integral part of the work of so many people, especially those who have switched to hybrid or remote work or study. Zoom has launched a new Immersive View feature designed to make video conferencing more visual and engaging to enhance the video communication experience.
The new feature, originally called Immersive Scenes, was first unveiled at the Zoomtopia event last October. It was positioned as an analog of the “Together” mode in Microsoft Teams, which was launched a few months earlier. Thanks to the new feature, conference participants can be placed in the same virtual space, for example, at the same table, simulating a real meeting in a conference room. All Zoom users can already try the new feature.
Immersive View supports up to 25 members. They can be placed in virtual environments such as a boardroom, auditorium, or classroom, depending on the event. The host can manually move attendees or let Zoom do it automatically. Immersive View is already available in Zoom 5.6.3 or higher for Windows and macOS.
