Japanese journalists talk about the technical features of the Nioh remaster for PS5

Portal Wccftech, citing material from the Japanese edition of GameSpark, shared details about the graphics modes and the use of the DualSense controller in the Nioh remaster for the PlayStation 5.

As it turned out, the updated version of the samurai action movie from Team Ninja will offer three options for the ratio of image quality and performance:

  • Full 4K resolution (2160p) @ 60fps
  • 1080p @ 60 fps, but with improvements in screen-space reflections, shadows, and model detail
  • 1080p @ 120fps.

Recall that the original Nioh on PS4 and PS4 Pro also had graphics settings, but then you had to choose between 60 frames / s and a sharper picture at 30 frames / s.

As for the DualSense controller, GameSpark has confirmed support for adaptive triggers (when using a bow and firearm) and tactile feedback (when performing some actions).

GameShark also noted the “incredibly fast” downloads in the remaster: it takes about three seconds to return to the gameplay after death. How it looks, the developers demonstrated back in November.

The Nioh Remaster will go on sale on February 5 this year for the PlayStation 5. The updated version is available as a separate purchase and as part of the Nioh Collection, which also includes the re-release of Nioh 2.

The original Nioh was released in February 2017 on PlayStation 4, and in November reached PC (Steam). By the third anniversary of the samurai action movie, its total sales exceeded 3 million copies.
