KB4598291 Update for Windows 10 Fixes Known Issues and Adds New Issues

Earlier this month, Microsoft released cumulative update KB4598291 for the Windows 10 software platform, which fixes many bugs known since the launch of Windows 10 20H2 last fall. However, after installing this package, some users drew attention to the emergence of new problems associated with the installation of the update and the launch of online games.

Windows 10

This is evidenced by user reports that come to Microsoft support through the “Feedback Hub” in Windows 10. According to the available data, in some cases, users cannot install KB4598291. The installation process freezes for a long time, after which a message appears stating that the update cannot be installed, and the OS rolls back the changes.

In other cases, users reported that some online games, including World of Warcraft, stopped launching after installing KB4598291. It is noteworthy that after removing the mentioned package, the performance of the games is restored.

It’s worth noting that KB4598291 is an optional update that users can install themselves. This means that at this stage, it will not be difficult to solve the problem with the launch of online games if it occurs after installing the cumulative update. However, KB4598291 will soon be part of a cumulative update due out this week as part of the Patch Tuesday program.
