Based on posts on social media and Google support forums over the past two weeks, Android Auto connectivity issues seem to be affecting quite a few people.

The first issue is that some Android Auto users see their phones not connecting properly, get a “Searching for Android Auto” notification, but the search never completes. This happens on both wired and wireless connections.

Latest Android Auto updates causing connection failures and random disconnects

The problem first appeared in early May and persists in Android Auto 9.4, 9.5 and 9.6. Some have reported success when downgrading to Android Auto 9.3.

Also, later updates seem to be causing Android Auto to shut down randomly. Users see that the platform works for a while, and then Android Auto suddenly turns off. This failure occurs mainly with wired connections.

Problems like this are unfortunately quite common in Android Auto and usually get fixed with new versions released. This time, Google has yet to confirm that a fix is on the way.
