Enthusiasts continue to amaze. The NTDev team, who previously created the Tiny11 build , was able to run this version of the system using only the memory of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 mobile graphics card.
To do this, the developers created a RAM disk in the video memory. This technology was popular when modern high-speed SSDs did not yet exist. With the help of a RAM disk, it was possible to transfer the operating system completely to RAM, which increased the responsiveness of the OS.
NTDev went a step further and used a GeForce RTX 3050 on a laptop. This version of the card is equipped with 4 GB of GDDR6 video memory. Using the GPU RAM Drive utility, a virtual machine was created that used a 3550 MB RAM disk. This system provided read and write speeds of 1960 and 2497 MB/s, which is slightly inferior to the M.2 SSD on PCIe 3.0.
The Tiny11 operating system itself is a build of Windows 11 that uses just 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
