LucasArts Classic Quests Coming To Xbox Game Pass October 29

A biker, a travel agent, and a tentacle walk into a bar … This is not the beginning of a bad joke, but rather another argument from Microsoft to persuade you to sign up for Xbox Game Pass. Beginning October 29, re-releases of classic LucasArts adventure games – Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle – will be available in the in-game subscription service.

And owners of the more expensive Game Pass Ultimate subscription will be able to play the aforementioned quests on Xbox, PC, and Android with synchronized saves via the cloud. All three adventure games were developed and published by LucasArts in the 1990s and became iconic in their time.

When Disney closed the game development studio in 2013 following the 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm, Tim Schafer’s Double Fine bought the rights to the games and decided to re-release them for a new generation of gamers (as well as nostalgic oldies).

Microsoft acquired Double Fine last year, and what better way to further grow Xbox Game Pass subscribers than adding new games to the catalog. Finally, the wait is coming to an end – the developers have kept their promise and will release the games on Xbox before the end of the year, despite the difficulties associated with the quarantine.

Until recently, these projects were released anywhere, but not on Microsoft consoles – on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile devices running iOS and Android. As for which of the three quests should be played first, it is difficult to answer: each fan will give his own answer.
