Luna, Final Boss and Price Increase: PC Risk of Rain 2 Coming Out of Early Access on August 11
Gearbox Publishing and Hopoo Games have announced the release date for the full version of the Risk of Rain 2. Roguelike will be out of Early Access on August 11, 2020. On this day, the game will receive a major update with a new level, final boss, and other innovations. Its price will rise.
In the final version, a new survivor will appear – The Captain. The tenth controlled character is armed with a shotgun and a rifle and is able to stun opponents, as well as supply armor to allies and heal them. In addition, the update will add a level on the Moon with new monsters and a final boss, as well as fresh skill options that will deepen the strategic component. New items include the Molten Perforator, which fires magma balls, and the SuperMassive Leech, which replenishes the player’s life bar based on damage inflicted on the enemy. Finally, a built-in server browser will become available, allowing you to create your own servers with many settings (choice of complexity, the ability to set a password, etc.).
On the named day, the final version will be released only on the PC. It will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this fall. The developers will share more information later.
With the official release, the price on Steam will rise from $ 19.99 to $ 24.99, as the authors warned about at the beginning of the month. It is not known whether the console versions will rise in price (now they are asking $ 30 for any of the three).

Risk of Rain 2 appeared on Steam Early Access on March 28, 2019, and on August 30 of the same year, it was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Version 1.0 was planned to be released this spring, but in May the developers announced a delay. Additional time was needed in order to scale up the sequel and improve it in accordance with the wishes of the players.
Roguelike quickly became a hit, with the early version selling over a million copies just a month after its release on Steam. User reviews on the Valve Store are described as “extremely positive”. Many people call the game the best representative of the genre and note that the sequel is superior to the original in every way. Risk of Rain 2 supports single-player mode as well as a co-op for four.
