Mac laptops on their own processors opened up a market with a capacity of $ 15 billion for Apple
During yesterday’s presentation, Apple demonstrated new laptops based on the first proprietary processor for this category of devices. The abandonment of the use of Intel processors should be completed in a couple of years, and experts already say that the capacity of the corresponding market in monetary terms will reach $ 15 billion.
JPMorgan noted several benefits of Apple’s switch to using proprietary processors in laptops. Firstly, as soon as an intermediate model appears between the MacBook Air for 99,990 rubles and the MacBook Pro for 129,990 rubles, the target customer audience will expand proportionally. Secondly, Apple’s direct control over the development of processors will allow the company to quickly translate them to advanced lithographic technologies, as is now happening with the brand’s mobile processors. Thirdly, as soon as all Apple computers finally switch to using proprietary processors, this will allow the company to reduce the cost of these devices.
In the near future, Apple will be able to sell up to 10-15 million laptops based on its own processors annually, which, with an average selling price of about $ 1000, will make it possible to receive up to $ 15 billion in the reporting period. Analysts at JPMorgan expect Apple’s stock to rise to $ 150 per share in the long term from the current value of $ 115.97.
