Microsoft announced an affordable and compact Xbox Series S console for $ 299
An official message has been published on the Xbox Twitter account confirming the information that Microsoft will release a less expensive modification of the Xbox Series S along with the Xbox Series X game console.
The Xbox Series S is said to be Microsoft’s smallest set-top box. The image in the tweet shows the device enclosed in a white parallelepiped with a black circular section at the front. Nearby there is a snow-white gamepad.
In addition, the price of the Xbox Series S is officially disclosed – $ 299, or 22,700 rubles at the current exchange rate. In the near future, the developers promise to disclose additional information about the device.
Network sources add that the Xbox Series S, due to its compactness, can fit approximately twice inside the Xbox Series X case. The console will differ from its older brother in lower performance – it will be designed primarily for games in Full HD, not 4K.
Apparently, the Xbox Series S won’t have an optical drive. There is a USB Type-A port in one of the side parts. Other technical characteristics of the device are kept secret.
We add that the release of new consoles, according to available data, will take place on November 10. The Xbox Series X will start at $ 499.
