Microsoft began testing the updated news widget in Windows 10

Since most people find news on the Internet, Microsoft works to make it easier and more convenient to view such content on Windows 10. For this, the developers have added a special widget to the taskbar. The work didn’t end there, and the news widget received an update this week for members of the Microsoft Insider Program on the Dev Channel (Early Access).

First of all, it should be noted that the news feed has become more colorful. The news tiles are colored differently, whereas they were all gray in the previous version of the panel. When you select the “See more news” option, an expanded version of the panel opens, where the news is displayed differently from before.

Each news item is placed in a larger block, in which, in addition to the title of the article, a part of the text is placed. This approach will allow you to learn more about particular news to decide whether to open the full version of the article for reading. Besides, the developers have added the ability to use emojis to indicate their attitude to the news viewed.

According to reports, the updated news widget is currently available to members of the US Insider Program. Microsoft will later roll out the update to other regions. Along with this update, the developers also released several minor fixes for Windows 10.
