Microsoft Edge Coming To Vertical Tabs And Fast Launch This Month

Microsoft is preparing to release another update for its proprietary Edge browser, which will bring new features and fixes and general performance improvements. We are talking about support for vertical tabs, which were announced a few months ago, and a function that allows you to speed up the browser loading process significantly.

The ability to arrange tabs vertically is an expected feature. After the update, users will arrange tabs in a vertical column instead of the usual horizontal line above the address bar. This is especially useful when using widescreen monitors, as the vertically positioned tabs allow for optimal use of the workspace. It’s worth noting that Microsoft added the Sleep Tabs feature to Edge just a few weeks ago, which automatically frees up computer resources by putting unused tabs into inactive mode.

Along with the update, Microsoft’s browser will also receive a feature that will speed up the download process. According to the developers, the browser will start up to 41% faster, depending on the user’s computer configuration. This is implemented since when Windows 10 boots up, some Edge processes will automatically start in the background. This will load much faster when the user decides to launch the browser by clicking on the corresponding shortcut.

As for the smaller changes, it is worth noting the optimization of the search engine and the updated history of the pages viewed, which will be slightly modified to make it easier for users to interact with it. As always, the update also brings many general fixes to improve browser stability.
