Microsoft has fixed an issue with saving user passwords in Windows 10 apps

Microsoft previously acknowledged a bug in Windows 10 that in some cases causes apps to fail to save user passwords. According to posts that have surfaced on Microsoft support forums, the problem with disappearing saved passwords affects Outlook, Edge, OneDrive, Chrome, and other products. Now it became known that the developers have prepared a fix that will be included in one of the next cumulative updates for Windows 10.

It is worth noting that the first reports of problems with saving passwords in different applications appeared in the spring of this year, shortly after the launch of Windows 10 May 2020 Update. The essence of the problem lies in the fact that in some cases applications stop remembering passwords saved by users and after each reboot of the operating system they have to be entered again.

According to reports, the fix is currently being rolled out to Windows 10 devices for users participating in the Microsoft Insider Program. Upon completion of the pre-testing phase, it will be released as an optional update, and will later become part of the cumulative update package for the software platform.

According to Microsoft, the problem with saving passwords affects a relatively small number of users. The patch will begin mass distribution in February or March next year when Microsoft releases the next cumulative update for Windows 10.
