Microsoft Paint is finally on the Microsoft Store

Microsoft has finally decided to keep the promise it made to Windows 10 users over three years ago for the Microsoft Paint desktop app.

Wait: three years later, Microsoft kept its promise of classic Paint

Recall that in the spring of 2017, Microsoft released a “creative” Windows 10 Creators Update with an application called Paint 3D, announcing that classic Paint, which has been part of Windows for decades, will disappear from the system in six months. Users were outraged and unhappy, and in a couple of days, the company promised to make the classic paint editor available for everyone to install through the Microsoft Store.

More than 3 years have passed since then, and Microsoft has only now decided to keep its promise. The Microsoft Paint page is now available in the Microsoft Store, but you can’t download it yet.

Note that in a major Windows 10 update in the fall of 2021 (Windows 10 21H2, codenamed Sun Valley), the Paint 3D application, which did not turn out to be popular, will be removed from the system. Also, with the release of Windows 10 21H2, another “veteran” of the system, the Notepad application, is expected to “move” to the Microsoft Store.
