Microsoft introduced a VR headset for $ 5000

Many companies have requested that the HoloLens 2 headset can be used in controlled environments, such as in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries, devices must meet particle emission requirements.

HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition meets several new standards. It is ISO 14644-1 Class 5-8, designed for clean rooms and the intrinsic safety of the headset is UL Class I, Division 2. The headset also supports a new quick-swap program. In the event of a malfunction of your device, a replacement can be made as soon as possible. The warranty is extended to two years.

The rest of the HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition matches the characteristics of the HoloLens 2; they support the same applications. The HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition is already available for pre-order at $ 4,950, and shipping will begin this spring. By comparison, the HoloLens 2 Development Edition costs $ 3,500.

HoloLens 2 is vastly superior to the original model. The first-generation HoloLens had a 34-degree field of view. In the second generation, the viewing angle has increased to 52 degrees. Although the resolution remains, the same, performance has been improved. Microsoft has given the headset more processing power as well as hardware acceleration for eye and hand tracking. Also, the headset has become more comfortable.
